What We Do

Babcock is a leading service provider to the communications industry operating in the mobile, fixed telecommunications and digital television infrastructure markets in the UK and other international markets. 

Babcock delivers all the necessary elements required for the successful installation, commissioning and integration of equipment into a mobile communications network.

It provides both a menu of installation and maintenance services and a full turnkey service, from site search and selection through to hand-over of fully functional and migrated sites, and support services on operational networks.

All services are supported by an efficient nationwide storage and logistics service, ensuring that network equipment is delivered to site both safely and on time.

Babcock owned and operated global broadcast infrastructure transmits over 1,000 hours of short-wave and medium-wave broadcasts every day, linking broadcasters to their audiences worldwide. We have made significant investment in our pioneering global distribution system, which offers our customers the fully scalable media and converged IP solution they need for distributing their content; all managed from our state-of-the-art Media Management Centre.

Babcock has more than 80 years' experience of providing services to the broadcast sector. Since it designed and erected the Alexandra Palace Tower in 1936 (the BBC’s first television broadcast transmitter), Babcock has had extensive worldwide experience offering a significant in-house resource in high mast broadcast skills for the design, construction, maintenance and expansion of broadcast network infrastructure.
