Content is king. So where’s the flaming content?

From the state of the global economy to a camera mounted on your helmet, you can find something about anything online.

With all this noise, you’d be mistaken to think that the quality of your content will stand out like a diamond in the rough in the way it once did. You’ve been drowned in a sea of choice.
 
All power to the aggregators…Google, Yahoo! and others have become dictators in a bloodless coup with their powerful search engines and filters serving the people. After all, who bothers to look at results 11 – 20 of about 3,795.   So, should producers not bother? Absolutely not – quality is still essential for all the other good reasons like credibility and audience retention, but the bar has been raised. So you learn to play the game, the art, or is it a science, that is Search Engine Optimisation. Link or be damned. It’s not what you say, it’s who you say has heard it. Content, n’ah it’s all about the context. Product placement gone mad is where it’s at.
 
And what’s more, I’ve heard that emergency exits are on the way out! If ever you needed a sign that the recession is upon us...
