Media Asset Management

With greater pressure to produce targeted quality content for an increasingly diverse audience, be it through lifestyle or geography, broadcasters’ resources are being stretched.

featureAt Babcock, we take care of your media from the moment you have produced it once, through to delivery to your audience across multiple platforms, saving you time, effort and therefore money.

Ingest
Babcock's Digital Media Asset Management service supports various methods of content acquisition, whether your content is live or pre-recorded.

We can receive your content via
• FTP - dedicated, resilient servers offering 24 hour access.
• Transcaster - a proprietary Babcock web application which allows you to manage your media files from the desktop and attach associated metadata to your content to drive the workflow or add descriptive information.
• Global Media Network (GMN) -  Babcock’s high-performance, content delivery network, allowing you to deliver live or file-based content 24 hrs a day to single or multiple destinations across the network.
• Satellite - we can downlink your content from satellite at our teleports.
• ISDN - We can record and store live material upon request.

Optional Quality Check
Once your content has been ingested an automatic Quality Check process will occur. A copy of the content is stored onto the archive, whilst your original version of the content passes through a workflow, checking for duration and level errors. The MMC will be notified of any content that fails the check according to pre-determined thresholds, and the content is then altered accordingly.

Optional Archive
All of your media will be archived in a secure environment. Your media can then be catalogued and repurposed for future use, saving you time and effort.  Not only will you have peace of mind that your content is stored in a safe location, you can also access your archive folders via a secure log in from anywhere in the world. Here you will find all of your original content, plus all media that has been Quality Checked, for you to search and download to your desktop.

Optional Transcoding
Converting your media to a variety of formats making it suitable for multiple delivery platforms can take time. As a part of the Babcock's DMAM solution, we convert your media to the required formats for you. The transcoding process takes place according to the platform from which your media will be distributed.
