Babcock's new ‘Taste of Digital’ starter package provides the answer. This offers smaller radio broadcasters the opportunity to experience the world of digital media through a low-cost introductory package.
Why go with ‘Taste of Digital’?
‘Taste of Digital` is a three month starter package that costs under £4,500.00.
It includes the delivery of your radio programming via live streaming, audio-on-demand and podcasting.
It measures your listeners’ usage patterns of the content in this new format – providing you with valuable information to help secure funding from donors or advertisers.
We cover all the bases for you, so that you don’t have to work with multiple suppliers. This allows you to channel your time and resources into what you do best - making quality programmes for your audience.
How does it work?
First, choose the radio show (up to one hour duration daily) that you want to test out and send it to us daily as a .wma or .mp3 file via FTP
Then we will provide the following:
- Scheduled ‘live’ streaming of the show from your website to your audience around the world, cost effectively capturing a new and geographically diverse audience;
- Downloads on demand from your website for up to three months, so that your audience can listen to any of your shows when it suits them;
- Podcasts of the show for your audience to subscribe to so that they regularly receive your content;
- Links to place onto your website to enable your audience to access these services;
- Access to real user data to help you decide when to grow.
Terms & Conditions: The service is provided on a three month contract subject to Babcock's standard terms and conditions. Customer will provide Babcock with a maximum of one hour daily of pre-recorded programming and upload it via FTP to VT as an mp3 file. Other formats and forms of programme delivery are possible and may be subject to an additional fee.The programme will be scheduled for 'live' streaming at a pre-agreed time. Streaming and audio-on-demand will be available through html links which Babcock will provide you with for you to place on your website. Podcasts will be delivered as mp3 files, other formats are possible and may be subject to an additional fee.The podcasts will be available on iTunes and through your website through an RSS feed provided to you by Babcock. All programme delivery will be at 64kbit/s and for a maximum of 20 concurrent users. Higher bandwidths or increased concurrent user allowances are available and may be subject to an additional fee.
